LAKE MANAGEMENT

When aquatic growth is left uncontrolled, algae and aquatic weeds can interfere with drainage, fishing and other water-related activities. Excessive growth in lakes can lower dissolved oxygen, impede water flow, harm fish and other wildlife and even disrupt boat traffic. Warm weather, non-native weed species and high nutrient levels in most Florida lakes add to the problem. Without scheduled removal, trash and debris collect in coves and present an unsightly appearance.

Our staff specializes in keeping your lake, pond or waterway in excellent condition year round. We provide effective lake maintenance without disturbing fish, wildlife or desirable plant species. Water testing is performed during each visit to your site. Members of our staff are licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Allstate water management programs solve existing problems and help to prevent future unsightly weed and algae growth. Service contracts usually include twelve treatments per year, scheduled approximately thirty days apart. Modified plans are provided where required.

PROGRAM PARAMETERS INCLUDE:
  • Monthly water testing of lakes used for swimming, boating, fishing and irrigation.

  • Fish and wildlife management and monitoring.
    		•
  • Control and maintenance of algae.
    		•
  • Control and maintenance of undesirable aquatic weeds.
    		•
  • Scheduled inspections, with treatment as necessary, for the prevention of the    development of undesirable aquatic weed species through introduction by drainage transfer or other natural processes.
    		•
  • Control and maintenance of shoreline grasses growing in the water to the water's edge. Neatly maintained patches of native aquatic flora are left for aesthetic value and wildlife benefit.

  • Optional stocking of lakes with the desirable sport fish species; Bass, Bream and Catfish
    		•
  • Research for the introduction of the Triploid Grass Carp, to assist in biological weed control (and Mosquitofish for assistance with insect control) is conducted.

  • Trash and debris removal where specified.
    		•
  • Wetland area maintenance where specified.
    		•
  • Professional reporting for property management administration.
